== WARP v3 User Guide: Power ==

The WARP v3 board requires an external 12VDC power supply. Every WARP v3 kit ships with a 100-240VAC to 12VDC@5A power supply (currently a CUI ETSA120500UD-P5P-SZ).

The power connector is a 2.1/5.5mm (ID/OD) barrel connector, with positive tip and ground sleeve.

The board's power supplies are controlled by a [http://www.maxim-ic.com/datasheet/index.mvp/id/5645 MAX16050] power sequencing chip. This chip ensures the supplies turn on and off in the order recommended by Xilinx. The power switch on the WARP v3 board controls the MAX16050 state. You can disable the board's power supplies by moving the switch "up" (away from the power connector).

'''Note''': even if the board is powered down using this switch, power is still flowing to the board's switching regulators and their input capacitors. We recommend you unplug the board if you will not be using it for a while, to extend the life of the regulator input caps.
